ONE BAD APPLE

Apple CEO Tim Cook...the face of family friendly entertainment...
I remember when I was a little kid and I used to watch ‘The Power Rangers’, those were the good ole days of youthful ignorance. I used to be really excited every Saturday morning to watch new episodes…then I turned 16 and learned the truth. The Power Rangers had some of the worst acting and effects this of side martial arts movies from the 1970’s.
The really annoying part was that new Power Ranger series kept on being released, but the acting and special effects were still trash. How is it that in 2016 the Power Rangers are still getting hurt by energy beams that land BEHIND them!? However, a part of the longevity of the series was its family friendly appeal, which is debatable. Parents could leave their children unattended watching the Power Rangers, because the good guys always won, it taught them the value of friendship, and there was no way their kid would be lucky enough to see some titties while watching Power Rangers.
Now, I saw an article on IGN that said Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said sex and violence are inappropriate for Apple’s upcoming digital streaming website. He wants more ‘family-friendly’ TV shows, and well…that annoyed me. First of all, sex is a beautiful magical thing given to us by the powers that be so that horny 12 year olds could have a reason to look forward to puberty. Secondly, violence is an essential part of human existence, because if someone finishes the orange juice and doesn’t restock, how will he or she learn his or her lesson unless you punch him or her in his or her throat!?
Sex and violence are just natural occurrences and in many instances the most relatable aspects of a lot television content. The statement from Ole Timmy boy just sounds judgy, stupid and, out of touch. No violence? NO VIOLENCE? I should kick your ass for saying that. Here’s a crazy idea, and you don’t have to pay for it, JUST.DO.BOTH. You can have mature content and family friendly content on the same platform. What? You don’t believe me? I think it’s been done before by…hmmm…NETFLIX! They literally have a kids section, for kids, so that adults can still watch quality content with some action and the occasional nipple. Also, parents that watch TV with their kids are weird, lonely, and need friends their own age.
